Hijinx Theatre "To Have and to Hold"

Hijinx Theatre, based in the Millennium Centre, Cardiff toured Wales and England in Spring 2005 with "To have and to hold", a show for adults with learning disabilities and the community.

The show opened in Newport at the Gateway Centre on the 21st of April 2005, The 11 week tour visited many Day Centres, Theatres and Clubs across Wales and England.

As part of the production for the show, Hijinx Theatre staged a fake wedding at All Saints Church, Llandaff North, which was filmed, together with the reception at Sbectrwm Community Centre, Fairwater, Cardiff. Dragons and Daffodils Cakes provided a cake for the "wedding reception". Clips from the film were shown at the start of the play, and during the performance.

It is a play about relationships, friendships and falling in love.  On the surface it seemed straightforward enough, the opportunity for a simple love story - but imagine how diffficult it is to make a friend, never mind fall in love if you are a dependent person.
