Cakes
All cakes are as the sizes specified at time of ordering.  An approximate slice guide can be given upon
request.  Please ensure you sufficient cake for your requirements as we are unable to change the size once the
order is finalised.
All cakes are made by hand and are therefore subject to slight variation from original photograph, but still
keeping to the original design.
A
ll flavours of sponge cakes do not contain nuts but are prepared in a premises where nuts are used and
stored.   Every care will be taken to ensure there is no cross-contamination, but please inform us of any nut
allergies.
We are unable to provide dairy free cakes.
We are able to produce gluten free and lactose intollerant cakes for 6" tiers only.
Please check your order form to ensure that all details are correct.

Weddings
Stands are available for hire with our cakes only and not separately.  A deposit cheque will be required by one
month before and the stand returned by the Tuesday after the wedding.  If we do not have a deposit cheque, we
will not deliver/have the stand ready for collection.  Stands that are not returned by the specified date will mean
that we cash your deposit cheque.

Fresh Flowers on Cakes
We do not use poisonous varieties (including ivy) and will provide a good quality silk substitute if fresh flowers
are required.  We prefer to arrange the flowers ourselves rather than your florist, but will happily liaise with the
florist to ensure the varieties match (as long as they are not poisonous).  We will quote you including the
flowers.  Flowers will be arranged onto the cake on clear acetate to avoid contact with the cake surface.  
Please ask and we will happily design a cake for you where the flowers are encased in glass or perspex to
avoid all risk but still keep the beauty of fresh flowers.................or why not have sugar!  Rhianydd can produce
life like sugar flowers for you to perfectly match your scheme.

Cake Storage and Shelf Life
All cakes should be stored in a cool dark place on a flat sturdy surface in the box provided.
Never put cakes in the fridge.
Sponge, Chocolate and lemon cake will keep for 5 days after delivery.
Fruitcake last perfectly well for months but not years.
Chocolate cakes are extremely fragile.  We do not recommend a chocolate cake being placed in a
conservatory or marquee, if you do so it is with the understanding that we have no responsibility for the resulting
condition of the cake.  We will provide information sheets for all collections which will require a signature to
show that you will comply with the storage suggestions listed.

Orders
We require 2 weeks notice for celebration cakes (but sometimes more or less due to fluctuations in demand)   
We will occasionally have to refuse an order if we are already at capacity.
1 month notice for wedding cakes (again, subject to availability).
Please check your order thoroughly before payment. For bespoke cakes, our decorators can only create the
finished article from what they interpret from the wording of the order. It is not possible to create exact
specifications when modelling food, just a graphical representation.   We will produce a simple design sketch
for your wedding cake at your consultation and follow it as closely as possible.  We do not produce design
sketches unless an order is made or for you to take away to think about.
If an inscription colour or any other choice is left un-selected on your order then we reserve the right to use our
own discretion.

Payment
We accept a £75 date reservation deposit on Wedding Cakes more than six months before your wedding.
If you are ordering your cake within six months of your wedding or are choosing your deisgn 50% is due on
order, the balance due 1 month prior to delivery or collection.  The cake will not be started until final payment is
made.  This does not affect your statutory rights
We accept cash, cheque or card payments via the paypal button on the website or through our card machine.

Delivery
All cakes are delivered boxed.   Boxes will be left with the venue, so please ask for them.
We deliver locally subject to availability.  There will be a delivery fee.
We do not deliver over the Christmas period or Easter.
All cakes will be delivered on your chosen delivery date or the day before, subject to design. We do not offer
specified time deliveries. If you require your cake before a specified time you must choose a delivery date for
the day before. Our cakes keep perfectly fresh for 5 days before the wedding
Cakes will be ready for collection up to 2 days before the wedding, by specific time arrangement only.  
Designs incorporating fresh fruit will be available plain for you to supply the fruit and cost will be deducted as
appropriate.
Designs with fresh flowers for collection - Please speak directly to a cake decorator.

Cancellation
Your deposit will be forfeit if cancelling more than 2 weeks after placing your order.
Any changes to the design will result in a new quote.  No changes to design will be accepted in the month prior
to the celebration date.
There will be no refund on cakes cancelled less than 1 month prior to collection or delivery. However, in some
circumstances we will put your file on hold to be reinstated at a later date with the original design choices and
the new date must still be checked for availability.  Monies are non-transferrable or refundable.
This does not affect your statutory rights


Complaints
Corrections and repairs to cakes, including inscription mis-spellings/mistakes (not including a change of
inscription or change of mind/design), can be corrected on the same day in
most cases. You are required to
give us this opportunity and must let us know of the problem within one hour of accepting your cake.   We are
not responsible for mistakes made by the customer ie incorrect/mis-spelt names or incorrect choice of cake.  If
in doubt, please supply a photograph of the cake you would like from
our website.
Complaints are extremely rare and so we take them very seriously. Some complaints may require further
investigation and an immediate refund may not always be possible.
Cakes, or part of cakes, must be returned within three days to ensure we are able to fairly assess the nature of
the complaint.  The cake must have been stored at the correct temperature and in the box we supplied, out of
the sun and away from damp conditions or heat
The maximum refund we offer is the value of the cake and delivery. Further compensation is not available.   We
do not refund for customers that have simply changed their mind
This does not affect your statutory rights

Loss or Damage
We accept no responsibility for loss or damage to the cake once the cake has been accepted either when
collected or at the venue, or for loss, damage or non-delivery under unavoidable and exceptional
circumstances.
